02.02.06: Local Charity Receives Vital Funding

A generous firm of IT specialists in Warwickshire is organising a launch event for local businesses to help raise funds in aid of The Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA).

On Saturday 4 March 2006, My Local Services (MLS), based in Warwick will introduce a brand new on-line Business Directory, which boasts an impressive 2.4 million business listings. It also offers a unique Events Calendar and a referral feedback system, which can highlight the best-rated and reviewed businesses in a chosen area.

The launch event will take place in Leamington Spa Town Centre in Regents Court between 10am and 2pm. It promises to be a fun packed afternoon with lots of giveaways and remember to watch out for a London “Black” cab in bright yellow livery with an eye-catching checkerboard trim and the My Local Service logo and contact details.

The cab will be on the road for 20 hours a day for the next 12 months around Warwick, Leamington Spa and Kenilworth to ensure maximum publicity for My Local Services and their chosen charity. WNAA is a totally charity run organisation which currently receives no government or lottery funding, yet it requires £1.4 million every year to continue operating the fantastic life saving service.

Prior to the launch, the charity-conscious IT firm has donated free laptops and computer software to WNAA and it will donate 5% of all company profits to the worthy cause. All charities, good causes and local voluntary groups will also be able to list for free on the Business Directory and edit the Events Calendar.

Steve Richardson, Director at MLS comments: “Anyone can list on the Business Directory for free, but all paid listings will have the same style. There are no sponsored links, banners or gold style listings! So the only way to get to the top of the category within your area is simply to provide a good service, and let your customers provide feedback.

“We have already taken advance bookings for The Business Directory and it also comes highly recommended by The Birmingham and Warwickshire Chambers of Commerce, so if you want to book in advance get in touch.”
