So in your start-up phase, when you're outlining profits and losses, expected growth and employee salaries, be sure to create your "work/fun fusion" section. Then dance around and celebrate. Come on. It'll be fun.” boasts Sean Farnell local business coach and business development partner of chartered accountants and business advisers Burgis & Bullock.
Following the overwhelming success of the monthly Business Builder Forums and last year’s event, the SuperForum will start at 2.30pm on Tuesday, 20 September at Wroxall Abbey Estate in Warwickshire.
Whilst enjoying the beautiful 27 acres of parkland and landscaped grounds, local business owners will discover how to make work fun, improve morale, reduce stress, increase productivity, creativity which lead to better profits!
Commenting Sean Farnell, a business development partner at Burgis & Bullock said: “I am delighted to be presenting at this year's Super Forum. We are continually told by local business leaders that they are not getting the most out of their team and want to know how to untie their true potential! They frequently feel frustrated with their own businesses. We are in an increasingly tough business environment and maximising productivity whilst continuing to recruit and retain high calibre people is a challenge for us all.
“With these frustrations in mind we will be demonstrating to Business Leaders practical, proactive ways to improve the environment at work and as a direct result, improve productivity and profitability!”
Now this may seem like a tall order, there is plenty of evidence that shows that having fun and running a great business are inextricably linked - for example we know of a firm who hired a Theatrical Director to teach their people how to smile, and profits went up by 15%!
But that's not all. This year we are incredibly lucky to have secured Paul Shrimpling as a special guest speaker. Paul is MD of AVN and is heavily involved in the National Campaign to "Make the UK's owner managed business the most profitable and enjoyable to run in the World". Whilst continuing the theme of Fun in the Workplace, Paul will be sharing a simple but very powerful system to radically improve the productivity and profitability of businesses.
Commenting on his involvement with this year’s event, Paul Shrimpling said: “In pursuit of the answer to this $64m question the business owner often gets him or herself tied up in knots. They’re tied up in knots partly because they have to keep the business running and, partly because they have to fight all the fires and partly because they’re not entirely sure what it is they should do to get to that hidden potential.”
Our first SuperForum in 2004 was a great success with over 150 local business leaders and professionals attending and this year's event looks like being even more successful
Tickets for the SuperForum are selling fast and are currently available at £75 + VAT each, but we are pleased to offer a special offer if you reserve your place before 19 August 2005. Reservations can be taken by telephone on 01926 466417 or book online.
